Let's start the journey to better golf.
Daniel Silcox was born and raised in Key West, Florida, where his love for sports began at an early age. He discovered golf at age 10 and within a year won his first junior tournament—the 1998 Key West Junior City Championship—followed by four additional junior titles over the next four years.
A four-year varsity letterman at Key West High School, Daniel made school history as the first individual district champion and a key member of the program's first-ever state championship appearance in 2003. During his senior season, he was medalist in all but one match, earning significant collegiate interest. That same year, he shot a course-record 63 at Key West Golf Club, highlighted by 11 birdies. In 2004, he was named Monroe County Golfer of the Year.
Daniel continued his competitive career at Johnson & Wales University, the No. 1–ranked NAIA program at the time. As a freshman in 2006, he posted a 73.6 scoring average with four top-five finishes in seven events. He turned professional in 2008 and competed on the Florida, Moonlight, and Michigan Players Tours before ultimately choosing to pursue his true passion—teaching.
Daniel's teaching career began early, assisting with junior camps at age 14. In 2011, he served as Assistant Golf Professional at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, Florida, learning under world-renowned PGA instructor Robert Mallek, author of the golf instruction book "Impact". He returned to Key West in 2012, joined the PGA as an apprentice, and advanced from Assistant Golf Professional to Head Golf Professional and Director of Instruction, a role he held until 2022. During this time, he became widely recognized as the top-rated instructor in the Florida Keys.
In 2022, Daniel accepted the General Manager and Director of Instruction position at Baytree National Golf Links in Melbourne, Florida, where he oversaw all golf operations while coaching numerous top-ranked local juniors. In 2025, he founded the Daniel Silcox Golf School, dedicating himself full-time to instruction.
